WESTBROOK – State and Westbrook police are investigating the death of a 2-year-old girl at her home during the night.
Madeline Negron was found dead in her playpen this morning at 10 Cross St. in Westbrook, according to Steve McCausland, spokesman for the Maine Department of Public Safety.
The child slept in the playpen and was last seen alive when she was put to bed last night, McCausland said in a press release. The girl lived with her parents, Jessica Joy and Raoul Negron.
McCausland said an autopsy is scheduled Tuesday at the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Augusta. There is no immediate indication of foul play as investigators await the medical examiner’s conclusions.
State police investigate all children’s deaths under the age of 3.
