1. Ken’s Place

This seasonal eatery has been in business since 1927, famous for its fried clams and other seafood offerings, including chowders and lobster stew. Ken’s also has a full raw bar with oysters and littleneck clams on the half-shell. The restaurant is open Monday-Thursday and Sunday, 11 a.m.-8 p.m., and Friday and Saturday, 11 a.m.-9 p.m. It closes for the season in late fall.

2. Clambake

This large restaurant, in business for nearly 50 years, serves fried and baked seafood dishes, chowders and sandwiches. Also offering grilled chicken dishes. Open daily 11 a.m.-9 p.m., but fall hours are subject to change.

3. Chowderheads

883-8333, Oak Hill Shopping Center, Scarborough

Chowderheads offers seafood chowder, fried seafood, grilled or Cajun-style fish dinners, chicken, sandwiches and subs. Open Monday-Friday, 11 a.m.-8 p.m., and Saturday, noon-8 p.m.

1. Lois’ Natural Marketplace

Lois’ is a locally owned shop offering fruits and vegetables, meats, salads, wines and cheeses from organic farms throughout Maine. Shop on Sunday, 10 a.m.-6 p.m., and Monday-Saturday, 8 a.m.-7:30 p.m.

2. The Cheese Iron

Cabela’s has been selling hunting, fishing and outdoor gear since 1961. In addition to its huge selection of merchandise, the 130,000-square-foot store features museum-quality animal displays, aquariums, an indoor archer range and shooting gallery and a gun library. Store hours are Monday-Saturday, 8 a.m.-9 p.m., and Sunday, 10 a.m.-8 p.m.

From skis, bindings and boots, snowboards and winter sports apparel to beachwear, wetsuits, surfboards, wake boards, water skis, and boogie boards, this store has lots to offer to year-round sports enthusiasts. 3. Pine Point Animal Hospital

Established in 2005, the hospital provides medical, surgical and dental care with individual attention and compassion. Patients include dogs, cats, ferrets, rabbits, rats, mice, hamsters, guinea pigs and chinchillas.  Hours are Monday- Friday, 8 a.m. -5:30 p.m.; Saturday, 8-11 a.m.
