GIRLS SOCCER: Sanford goes to 9-1

BERWICK – Sanford spartan girls defeated the Noble Knights Friday night in the pouring rain 4-1. Sanford had a 2-0 lead at halftime, with goals coming from Marissa Duncan (assisted by Sam Adams) and Megan Fromwiller (assisted by Lauren Legere).

Second-half scoring came from Ali Legere (assisted by Morgan Fogg) and Sam Fecteau (assisted by Kaela Godwin).

Gabby Reil scored for noble with :13 left in regulation.

Sanford goalie  Kellie Tovey had three saves, while Noble goalie Shaylee Ashburn had 14 saves.

Sanford moves to 9-1 while Noble falls to 1-9.

Sanford's next game is home on Oct. 3 against Biddeford.
