BIDDEFORD - Charles Raybine, 47, was found shot to death outside an apartment complex off Birch Street in Biddeford early Tuesday morning, March 26, according to Stephen McCausland, spokesman for the Maine Department of Public Safety.
McCausland has now said the death is being investigated as a homicide and that an autopsy is underway at the Medical Examiner’s Office in Augusta.
The shooting took place at about 12:45 a.m. in the parking lot of the Parish Place apartments and McCausland said Raybine was shot inside his car. He was a resident of Rathier Street in Biddeford, according to McCausland.
Detectives with both the Maine State and Biddeford police have interviewed a number of people as they continue to investigate Raybine’s death, McCausland said. Meanwhile Raybine’s car has been transported to a state police facility for examination.
